The Minecraft 1.18 Release is going to be delayed. But, good news is that it will still be this year.
While originally planned to be released somewhere in the 3rd quarter of the year, it will be moved to the holidays.
So what does this mean? We will get to enjoy one of the biggest Minecraft updates ever in December.
Minecraft 1.18
The release of the new Minecraft update 1.18 is a major event for gamers that have been waiting months for it to arrive.
It appears that the new Caves and Cliffs Part 2 expansion will not be available early.
“The next major Minecraft update, which is dubbed Caves and Cliffs Part 2, will bring a number of significant modifications to the game.”
The second episode of Part 1 went live in July with the Minecraft 1.17 update.
The update allowed players to mine copper, finally see goats, plus discover new redstone contraptions which can be crafted.
Some of the most noticeable updates include:
- Small dripleaf
- Big dripleaf
- Pointed dripstone
- Cave vines
- Glow berries
- Azalea
- Azalea leaves
- Flowering azalea
- Flowering azalea leaves
- Hanging roots
- Rooted dirt
- Moss carpet
- Moss blocks
And the sequel, Caves and Cliffs Part 2, promises to deliver even more interesting things that will revolutionize Minecraft.
Terrain Generation is one of the most significant improvements included in Caves and Cliffs Part 2.
This is something that the creators of Minecraft have been working on for years.
Mojang wants to improve how everything fits together while also adding new features and regions.
No Release Date Yet
A specific release date has not been announced, however it will fall within the “Holiday 2021” period.
This provides the development team a lot of options.
“Mojang’s current statement suggests that the release will not take place in early October, thus disproving the earliest launch date.”
As a result, there will be no announcements until October 16, when Mojang will host a major live stream event that is expected to cover all of the Minecraft universe’s most important news.
During that event, we can expect some awesome previews of Minecraft 1.18 along with a possible release date.
Delays in Development
As most of the players already know, 1.18 is going to be one of the biggest updates in the history of Minecraft.
It includes multiple new dynamics in the game such as better terrain generation and new mobs.
This update aims to revamp the most barren locations of the Minecraft world and fill it up with all types of hazards and resources.
Since it has so many updates a delay in the development occurred.
It was originally said to be released in October 2021 however with the announcement of Minecraft live to be aired on that month chances are entirely slim.
Another reason for the delay is all of the bugs and issues which are being addressed and fixed by the developers.
Beta players who are playing the Minecraft 1.18 Experimental Snapshot have already expressed their frustration with the slow FPS, and lag that they experience when travelling.
“This is because the new update will improve mountains and at the same time will make the new deepest layer of the world be -64 from the former 0. “
Due to this new feature, you can now dig even deeper than before by at least 64 levels down.
Because of this, lag and slower frame rates might be experienced since it generates it.
There are also some issues with importing from lower versions.
Since the 1.18 update will revamp the landscape and make the lowest levels underground deeper, it has been a problem in making lower versions compatible with the newest update.
Plenty of issues are yet to be fixed, and performance enhancement debugging is already being done.
Developing what is to be one of the biggest update in the game’s history has proven to be no walk in the park.
However, as long as we have been assured that it will be within this year, we’ll have the experimental snapshot to play with.
