In amazing news it was recently announced by Mojang that Minecraft now has A Unified Launcher which means you can launch all their games from within one software.

With games starting to fill up their repertoire they wanted to have a single launcher for all of their games like that of Blizzard entertainment.

For a limited time, the original Java version of Minecraft is now available on Xbox Game Pass for PC, with both the Bedrock Edition and Windows 10/11 version launching through a new unified Minecraft Launcher.

It’s a two-for-one special since, after all, that’s how the Game Pass subscription service works. And in the future, it will operate like this in general.

Game developer Gama Aguilar-Gamez has clarified Mojang’s plan to end the headaches of comparing options between editions for PC players.

“You want Minecraft? Cool. Buy Minecraft and you get both,”

Xbox Game Pass

Players who subscribe to Xbox Game Pass for PC may now play the unified Minecraft Launcher, which takes care of both Java and Bedrock Editions. As of today, gamers who download Minecraft through the unified launcher on PC will be playing with it.

You’ll still need to decide whether Java or Bedrock edition is the one you want to play, based on which features are most important to you unlimited modifications or cross-play.

Mojang will introduce the Minecraft PC Bundle when it debuts, which means you’ll only have to pay for one copy of the game.

You may play the game on all platforms for free if you own one version already. The unfried launcher ultimately removes the risk of buying the incorrect version.

The Old Minecraft Launcher

Previously, Minecraft players on PC used the Minecraft Launcher to play games in the Java and spin-off series Minecraft Dungeons and Minecraft Bedrock.

As of now, your current Minecraft Launcher will prompt you to update to a more up-to-date launcher version from the Xbox Store.

The new launcher should be nearly identical to the old one, allowing current Minecraft players to continue playing without interruption.

Mojang is hoping that once they’ve installed the new launcher, most users won’t even notice a difference.

It doesn’t change the position of your Minecraft save data, so I was quickly able to continue playing the same realms and utilizing texture packs.

How Much Does the Unified Launcher Cost

As mentioned above if you have already previously purchased the game then you will be able to download it for free. At the same time a free version of the alternative game option will also be available for you.

At the other hand, you will still have needed to purchase Minecraft dungeons in order to play it in the Unified Launcher.

The new Minecraft Dungeons launcher, which allows players to create their own dungeons and worlds, has been accessible to a lot of individuals for some time.

Starting today, players will be unable to access Minecraft Dungeons using the old standalone launcher and must use the freshly updated Minecraft Unified Launcher instead.

Features of the Unified Launcher

Your save files will not be damaged in any way. The Minecraft Unified Launcher reads saved data from the same location as the previous Minecraft Dungeons launcher, so your existing Minecraft Dungeons saves will not be impacted.

Aside from that you get the full benefit of launching games from Mojang within one software rather than separate stand-alone launchers like the previously.

All in all the update might sound alarming but in totally it is actually to make it easier for players to enjoy Minecraft and all of it’s versions and spin-offs.
