Name Tag Tweaks Mod 1.17.1/1.16.5 (Craftable & Retrievable NameTag)

Name Tag Tweaks Mod 1.17.1/1.16.5 makes some changes to the game regarding the name tag item. Entities with a custom name will drop their name tag on death. A command is added to change the name tag’s value without an anvil. The mod also adds a crafting recipe.

Configurable:

• droppedNameTagbyEntityKeepsNameValue (default = true): If enabled, any name tag that drops on an entity’s death will keep its named value.
• enableNameTagCommand (default = true): If enabled, adds the /nametag <name> command. Used to change the name value without an anvil.
• nameTagCommandReplaceUnderscoresWithSpaces (default = true): If enabled, replaces underscores with spaces when using the /nametag command.

How to install:

1. Make sure you have already installed Minecraft Forge.
2. Locate the minecraft application folder.
   • On windows open Run from the start menu, type %appdata% and click Run.
   • On mac open finder, hold down ALT and click Go then Library in the top menu bar. Open the folder Application Support and look for Minecraft.
3. Place the mod you have just downloaded (.jar file) into the Mods folder.
4. When you launch Minecraft and click the mods button you should now see the mod is installed.
