Snow golems are great for converting practically any biome into one covered in snow. With enough golems and a fenced-in area, soon everything will be covered in white. The Pumpkin-less Snow Golem mod makes those golems more accessible by removing the pumpkin requirement to create them, which is a big deal when you consider that pumpkins are actually rarer than diamonds on a world-by-world basis. Instead of a pumpkin head, your snow golems will have more traditional snowman heads, complete with charcoal eyes and mouths. They are made by stacking snow blocks, plain and simple.

While the Pumpkin-less Snow Golem mod makes the golems easier to craft, it doesn’t do anything at all to boost them. They still throw snowballs, which are good for knocking back enemies but practically useless in terms of dealing damage or actually neutralizing a threat. They still wander off if you don’t keep them in an enclosed area as well, so be sure to build up that wall before you start summoning them. This mod is great for those who want to make their worlds wintrier, but besides that, there’s relatively little use for this one. It’s kind of hit or miss, so download it or don’t.

1. Make sure you have installed a version of Forge.
2. Download the mod and put the .jar file in the following location:
